ADHD / Executive Functioning
Tailored tools and emotional support to help you manage overwhelm, improve focus, and regain control of your time.
Do I have ADHD?
Have you ever thought about life goals and dreams? It takes intentionality and focus to take steps toward meaningful outcomes that do not always have immediate results. Our brains help us toward this through “working memory,” or the ability to avoid immediate distractions and hold information needed to create worthwhile outcomes. This is called executive functioning.
Individuals with ADHD were born with a developmental struggle to stay focused on long-term goals, especially when immediate distractions are present. As some would say, those with ADHD have “a race car brain with bicycle brakes.” It can be easy to veer off course and difficult to stop and redirect. This comes with struggles and strengths as many of these individuals are intelligent and creative, but may need intentional internal work to find their most effective way of functioning.
